Then He took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, 'Drink from it, all of you. This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."

The Lord's Supper reminds us that Christ died for us. It's in the Bible, I Corinthians 11:26, TLB. "For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup you are re-telling the message of the Lord's death, that He has died for you. Do this until He comes again."
